On this night we decided to branch away from the usual food spots and try something else. Dev’s Haveli is an Indian Buffet with over 15 years of success in the UK. They have recently opened 2 locations in Mississauga with plans to open new restaurants in Brampton, Scarborough and Markham.
My experiences with Indian food are very few, but I am always open to trying new foods and the fact that this was a buffet sold the idea for me. The food was fresh, hot and well-flavoured using various spices such as tumeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, chilli powder and ingredients such as nuts, ginger, garlic and coconut milk.
Some of the dishes sampled were Shrimp Marsala, Butter Chicken, Aaloo Mutter – potatoes and peas flavoured with spices, Channa – spicy chickpeas, Veg Pakora,Dosa, Badami Chicken and Chicken Biryani. The Navratan Korma or Nine Gem Curry was my fave pick of the night. Throw in some rice and garlic naan for dipping in the sauces and it was a feast for the taste buds =)
