Winter? Is that you?
Boy was I glad to be inside staying nice and toasty beside some industrial gas ovens.
Today we made blueberry streusel and apple brown betty.
Both involved an oat, sugar and butter topping.
For the apple brown betty we took some apples, sliced them up and mixed them with sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon. It was then layered on top of a graham cracker crust and topped with the oat topping. Basically an apple pie but no pie crust. Into the oven…
For the blueberry streusel we made a pastry dough base.
Then layered on frozen blueberries that had been mixed with sugar, cinnamon and lemon zest.
