This evening’s Summerlicious 2012 adventure brought me to Hot House Cafe. A relaxed restaurant located in the St. Lawrence Market area of Toronto. I adore this area of the city. The awesome market, tons of bars and restaurants and the old city feel – if you can overlook the numerous condo projects around…
Hot House is a place I used to frequent a lot when I was in my early university years. Late night coffees, drinks and desserts. I was pretty excited to come back again, but this time to try out some Summerlicious food.
Off to a good start with a drink…
Starter of some flatbreads with goat cheese, olive tapenade and Roma tomatoes with garlic and basil.
Time for another drink!
Main course time! Atlantic Salmon stuffed with spinach, sun dried tomatoes and fennel wrapped in prosciutto with a side of mascarpone mashed potatoes, veggies and a creamy dill sauce.
Amazing flavour!! Generous portion size. The dill sauce complemented the salmon perfectly which was also well made and presented. The mashed potatoes were super creamy and soft. Good waiter recommendation. I ate it all and there was still dessert to be had.
White chocolate and peanut butter pie.
Big peanut butter flavor, so all you peanut butter freaks (me included), pick this one. The mousse was light and airy and the graham crust sweet. I think however that I was just way too full to completely enjoy this.
Going out with a bang…lemon drops!!
