Sourdough “Stan” Brownies

Yet another way to use Stan.…Brownies!

In a double boiler, I melted butter, sugar, cocoa and Lindt dark chocolate together.

Throw in some vanilla and an egg. It was supposed to be two eggs, but I was short one.

Once the mixture is smooth then add in the sourdough starter.

Again, using a wooden spoon or spatula, mix well until you can’t see the starter anymore. Then pour into a prepared square pan.

The nuts are optional. In this case, I used toasted walnuts. Pecans would work well too.
These are baked at 325 for about 35 minutes.

Decadent, a cake like consistency. The cocoa and Lindt add a nice chocolatey richness while the walnuts add a little bit of crunch. Well done, Stan, but I still love my gluten free brownies best. =)
