“People who love to eat are always the best people.” ~ Julia Child
I love checking out food shows and food events. Not only are they fun to attend with a group of friends, they are a terrific way to learn about new food products and drinks and meet people in the industry. The more shows I attend, the more pumped I get to start on my own food business endeavours. These shows are great motivators.
This weekend, The Delicious Food Show was in town. It was a pink carpet event and I was excited to check it out.
There were so many booths and vendors here. And all of them had a little something that I was interested in. Samples reigned galore, and all of it made our taste buds dance. I even came home with some nice goodies.
Various balsamic vinegars and oils infused with herbs and even fruits.
Panini sandwich and bean salad at the Pillar’s table.
Salsas, guacamole and hummus from Sabra. I especially enjoyed the peach mango salsa.
The best butter in Ontario. Based in Stirling, Ontario, this company has been around for 85 years. They use fresh, sweet cream, no colourants or preservatives. This is artisanal butter.
Ontario wine tastings. Several reds, several whites.
Some strange French liquor that seemed good initially. And then we drank some. Not so good…
Cheese heaven. Cheese from all over the world. This section was a favourite.
The swiss cheese was the best.
Octopus tacos. My first time having octopus. Its texture was like squid. Enjoyable.
Ice cream from the Belly Ice Cream Company from Muskoka. http://www.bellyicecreamcompany.ca/#!__home-page. I’ve had the pleasure of trying this ice cream in the past, S’mores flavour and it was delish. I was happy to try another flavour this time.
Went wih the pumpkin cheesecake. Wonderfully smooth and creamy.
Alize. We needed to try all of them to see which one we liked the best.
Toronto at night. Purple CN Tower. A pretty view to end my food fest. =)
