Over the summer, I was thrilled to be asked to bake some cupcakes for a little girl’s first birthday party. Her mom, one of my good friends, expressed that the theme would be a summer/butterfly theme. She let me run with it.
Decided to top each cupcake with shortbread cookies shaped as flowers, hearts, and of course butterflies. Homemade royal icing to paint the cookies with.
Standard flavours, chocolate, vanilla and my fave, lemon with bright coloured buttercream.
Happy Birthday JJ!!
A special order of cupcakes this week.
Chocolate, Vanilla and Lemon. Buttercream icing. I moulded some chocolate into hearts with roses.
I’m a little behind on posting, time seems to be flying by so quickly, I’m losing track.
Over the Easter weekend, I went over to visit some Peeps and meet their new Baby Girl. I brought some treats for their first-born son L, who LOVES cupcakes.
Chocolate and vanilla flavoured, keeping it simple with pink buttercream in honour of the new little girl. L picked one of the big ones first, of course, licked all the icing off first. Kids are funny.
Nothing like a pretty sunset to end a nice day =)
